The eye of the stranger cannot see
  the I that lies within
The eye of the stranger refuses to see
  that which cannot be seen
Could it be that the eye of the stranger
  can only see what has been?
It could be that the eye of the stranger
  is blind to what has not yet been

The eye of the stranger can only see
  that which I let him see
The eye of the stranger cannot see
  the I behind the door I never unlock
The eye of the stranger cannot see
  the I that I'm ashamed to show
The eye of the stranger cannot see
  that which I'm afraid to let out
The stranger will remain a stranger
  until I open the door
   to the I that lies within
